Sony has announced its intention to start charging a monthly fee to be a member of PSN . Starting on 1-12-10 they will charge you for online play. I'll post again when i get more info.

haha .. now the biggest "plus" that ps3 has over 360 is no more .. except maybe they will get an online experience that will mean a damn now .. but prolly will still be shitty ass psn they have now but they will charge u for it

Just read an article in gameinformer and it touched on sonys free online being a big advantage over live

unless this has been announced today i'm pretty sure its fake. Everybody has been sending chain messages sayi ng that over PSN and SOny has said its fake.

PSN will always be free, thats one of the few advantages PSN has over Live.

TMnews.com in Bedford has a guy that's a real good friend of mine, that writes for the paper. His column is called the Gaming Guru and his name is Rich Janzaruk. I met him in October of '07 as he did a article on me going to the '07 M.C. in Indy. If you read and follow his links , Sony is going to start charging for "some" of its services that are now free. It's only a matter of time until you'll pay for the whole PSN experience, you and i both know they have to start or they won't be able to compete with microsoft. I don't like it as much as anyone else but the writing is on the wall. They are adding a "premium serivce" that you can pay for. IDK what it includes though. The normal online will remain free though.

This is just a partial thing, the current PSN will remain free-of-charge, but a "premium" version will be added, which will cost a monthly subscribtion. They're not removing ANYTHING from the free version, simply adding an entirely new section that people can pay for, if they should wish so.

as long as what sony offers is good i think it will do well and least it giving members the choice not flameing xbox but they dnt give you one it either silver and they nothing to it or u have to pay top dollor for gold

I will gladly pay $49.99 for Live...it's a little over $4 a month...not really breaking the bank there...
